  • Going down to SoBo beach with the kids is favourite pastime. It’s created a really lovely vibe down at the beach front that feels unique to Southbourne.

  • It’s been the perfect place to spend time with friends . My girlfriend lives in Boscome , I’m there every weekend and have made so many friends as a result of Sobo, a real sense of community and a release from everything that’s going on in the world right now..I love it..

  • I love walking along the beach to grab a coffee or a bite to eat at Sobo. The atmosphere is always lovely, the people are really friendly, the food is amazing, and also it’s affordable which is rare down here. Sobo beach going would be of huge detriment to the community, the coastline, and the wider area

  • We own a property in Southbourne and absolutely love SOBO Beach. It's one of the things that makes the area so special. The relaxed atmosphere, music and ability to wander straight off the beach for a drink or something to eat are exactly what make it such a fantastic place. It has real character and feels like a natural extension of the beach itself. Places like this are increasingly rare, and losing SOBO Beach would be a huge loss for Southbourne.

  • It is open year-round and attracts local residents who value a sense of community, rather than being a faceless tourist attraction or a high-end destination like some others along the beach. This welcoming, accessible atmosphere is important in ensuring that local families continue to feel included and comfortable visiting.

  • We have a first floor flat with no garden and 2 young children (4&6) so the beach is where we spend most of our time. The kids absolutely love coming down to play here all year round and being able to grab food and drinks in a casual family-friendly setting like SOBO Beach is such a bonus.

  • I swim here every week and meet friends to run out to Hengistbury head and back. Great coffee & breakfast options as post swim/run treat.

  • It is become an anchor for the local community. For me an early morning dog walk and a coffee sets me up for my day. I share a coffee or a drink here with friends socially, after yoga and swimming, when my kids visit - every time we go to SoBo. This is simply the best beach cafe! It’s upbeat and chilled vibe makes me feel like I’m on holiday every day! It makes no sense to destroy something so good that it is at the heart of the community for so many?!!
