  This place is not only a gem in Bournemouths crown but its also quirky and different. But it has a community built up by the owners that embraces all that is beach life and Bournemouth. Ive sat here in dark times sipping a hot chocolate and people have said hello, very rare these days. To build something other than leaving sobo would in my opinion be financial suicide and the council need to understand how much this means to Southbourne and the wider community.

  It is a vabriant part of our community. It is by far the best place to meet and drink within Bournemouth. Where else has made national news ???!! It is thriving and provides an amazing support network within our community. So many places along the coast close for the winter . SOBO is at the heart of our community , it has become an amazing hub for so many groups.

  Sobo matters to me because it is a place where myself, my friends and my family spend a lot of time. Since it opened we have created some really special memories there. It is a place where people come together, with their friends or even make new friends. It is somewhere where you can go at all times of the year, which in Bournemouth we don’t have much of. It would be a piece missing in the community without SOBO.

  I go to Sobo beach every weekend. I have gone on walks no matter the weather and Sobo beach has always been the go to place for food, drink and socialising. Many evenings spent here catching up with friends, many morning matchas after a sea swim and the run clubs where Sobo beach has been the heart of it. This isn’t a place for tourists, it’s a place for the local community all year round. It would be a great shame to loose this and be handed over to someone who doesn’t have community at heart.

  Sobo is a thriving restaurant and hires local residents, attracts local and tourists, they partake in community projects, pay tax unlike most mainstream high street cafes!! It is a fantastic culinary location, its established and to close Sobo would be an embarrassment to the local area!!

  Sobo beach is primarily the reason I moved to Southbourne from central Bournemouth 3 years ago. It’s one of the main business (there are a handful) that gives the area a sense of identity, a sense of belonging and a sense of community. I understand the council has to make good commercial decisions, but please look at the wider benefits that Sobo Beach generates outside of a council P&L spreadsheet.

  This has been a firm favourite for us as a family and a hub we spend time at for many reasons, the vibe, good coffee, food etc but more so the community, we attend the sea dips and the run clubs and if this is replaced it will be detrimental to these communities, Sobo is the heart of Sobo beach and the very reason so many people go to that particular area all year round. If it turned out like a rock water style establishment (as nice as it is), I feel it wouldn’t support the current community
