  • Why are the council trying to fix what is not broken? This is a fantastic venue built by the current owner so leave it be!! Think of the community and what they want not what BCP want!

  • Everyone should have the opportunity to use the beautiful beach

  • This is just what is needed for the community both in this area and beyond. A handful of people making a decision on something’s future when it is clearly frequented and appreciated by so many should have its future secured, not placed into jeapordy by a select few. Wake up BCP!

  • They are so community minded and are now an integral part of Southbourne beach. They have been mentioned in the Times & Telegraph making Southbourne a go- to place for many, people are now moving to thw area because of it . They have so many interesting and regular events that they put on and are open all year. There is so much to choose from and something for everyone. I shared a beach hut above Bistro on the Beach (which was never replaced an we weren't offered another elsewhere)

  • Gives the town a much needed sense of community

  • Its a very special and beautiful venue that the public desperately need to remain open. There's very few beach cafes that still has the look and feel of what made Bournemouth a place where so many wanted to visit or live. Sobo is the quintessential place that still holds on to what Bournemouth was and its one of the only places left that I go to along the beach front that hasnt been negatively impacted by mass tourism in the town centre and Bournenouth pier region.

  • We have family in Southbourne and visit regularly. We love this area and would be very disappointed for this to go ahead as we visit each time we come down

  • Its a revenue driver for the area and a community hub. It has soft power.

  • It's a space with genuine soul. It has brought such joy and vibrancy to the beach front in a way that only an independent business run with passion can. SoBo is a destination, it has charm and magnetism. The pride that the staff take in running it is infectious. It's run by people that understand what the locals want, not by a soulless corporation who only cares about money. In the decaying town that is Bournemouth can one small ray of light please be left to thrive??

  • Because it gives me a place to relax during my lunch break and after a busy week at work. It's a nice friendly local vibe and I've spent many times there. Without it the beach would be quieter and would be less reason for me to go.

  • I have met so many friends at Sobo beach and enjoyed multiple afternoons and evenings dancing and having a fabulous stress free afternoon. Sobo is the highlight of our summer, and the monthly Sunday sessions through the year are events we look forward to the thought of loosing Sobo genuinely makes me feel quite depressed. My son had his junior school leavers party there and we have many fond memories of Sobo and want it to live on for us and the wider community.

  • This is a place where people gather and get together. If BCP Council cared about people's interests and community, then they have no reason to shut down SOBO.

  • It makes no sense to close somewhere that people love? BCP should restart the process and give residents a choice.

  • I am a regular 2-3 times a week. The effort they have put in over a short period should be recognised. BCP need to wake up to the assets they have.
