SOBO is one of the best things going for Bournemouth. The current operator runs the business very well and has established a growing and thriving community. It is really part of the (positive) eco system in Bournemouth. The venue, the people and the operating team are all part of that. Bournemouth is in a shockingly bad state right now, and we need EVERY shining light to thrive. SOBO is becoming a local institution - and so we need the council to recognise this and keep the site and team.

I have recently moved to the area from Berkshire. Having visited Southbourne, including SoBo many times we decided to make it permanent. One of the reasons for relocating was the community spirit which we experienced at SoBo. It is a well loved venue by young and old which brings the community together. And that is a very rare thing in today’s society.

I use Sobo beach bar for many different activities, its an area that delivers something for such a wide group, whether its coffee on a dog walk, chips with the kids or a silent disco with friends. Its not a boring one trick pony cafe or bar!
