Swimming at Christmas, meeting friends at weekends

We often visit with our family who also live locally. No doubt when the current Leaseholders started it was a commercial operation, however since then with the relaxed atmosphere they have been able to create a community hub which is safe & appeals to all ages. Once that is lost it is unlikely to return. BCP agree that 2 public tiolets are insufficient for Southbourne beach but don't have the funds to add more & I understand that the current Leaseholder is prepared to fund them for public use

It’s a great community venue, we use this as a family often. We frequent the art and craft workshops in the bus as a family and join the litter picks. An absolute asset to the community.

Regular visitor for events and a drink. It is unique and all my visitors love it. It is also the only bar actually on the beach between Boscombe and the end of the prom at Southbourne

It is an important hub for the community that offers so much for all ages . Great atmosphere, staff and an enjoyable place to have a drink, meal or simply chat and chill.

It’s a great venue, that hosts amazing events. A business created by the owners but built by the community.

This is and has always been my families favourite beach spot in the uk. We travel from Oxfordshire for holidays, weekends and even just days to be part of this fantastic community that is SoBo beach. Sunday sessions has become a big part of lives over the last 4 years and I really hope this can continue!!! Oi Oi….,

Sobo is the hub for small groups and communities to get together, for example the men’s mental health group that meet every Friday morning for a swim and coffee. Sobo is so important to us local residents. Loosing it would be absolutely devastating, so many people rely on it. I urge the council to think with their hearts, not their wallets, in deciding what happens in the coming weeks. Creating a temporary derelict piece of wasteland will only entice antisocial behaviour and an eyesore

I’m there every day, such a beautiful energy about this place! So many fun family events or to go to with friends. It’s the only place I meet anyone because it’s such a unique setting, it can’t be improved! You can’t recreate what Sobo has done.

Great centre of wellness and sociability. I've attended crafting there and enjoyed the friendship and safety when swimming too.

I go to Sobo at least once a week and throughout summer, probably 2 or 3 times a week. It is one of my favourite places to be. Amazing atmosphere and a great vibe. Amazing staff and owners . Don’t make the biggest mistake by not renewing their lease … this will be a fatal error of judgement!!!!

It’s the vibe , the feeling of community, what it ADDS to Bournemouth and Southbourne beyond just another pub, club or restaurant. It’s a community and cultural hub and is wonderful as it is. It does not need developing or ‘rockwatering’.

I love coming to this beach, it brings together the community and also attracts many visitors. Would hate to see it go!

It’s the nicest place in the area. Would be a bad move to get rid of it!

I walk there whilst my daughter is at dance lessons locally. It has a lovely atmosphere and gives me a few minutes to myself in a busy week.

I work within the NHS as a social prescriber which is all about connecting people with community. If the council keep taking away community access for people which helps with peoples mental health and wellbeing. Then where are people meet to go. I think it would be a real shame if the BCP don’t support Sobo beach and the amazing work it does helping people within our community.
