  • Great community place, especially on wild winter walks when the tourists have left

  • It’s ideal as it is right by the beach and it is nice there are people ranging from different ages there

  • A truely unique spot, it’s the coffee during a dog walk. A drink as the sun goes down, somewhere to meet friends and let the kids play. It’s where I bring out of town friends.

  • It is a fantastic setup which has rejuvenated the Sobo beach end of the prom. A real good hub for swimmers, runners and beach goers. A real benefit for the local community!!

  • Great location with good facilities and friendly/safe vibe in the summer. Our run club often uses it as a starting and end point for the club's Sunday runs.

  • It's a great community hub and fabulous cafe - and when we're in the area we visit it - it's wonderful.

  • Our local go to place for great vibes all year round, always a friendly atmosphere and great staff. It's a wonderful space for all ages at any time and it's like being on holiday abroad. We love it.

  • We love Sobo. A beautiful spot to socialise and enjoy whilst the children play on the beach in front of us

  • I work remotely and work from here to find company as it can be very lonely working from home alone. I run from here and have built amazing community.

  • Because it has become a community hub and as country, it seems as if we don't want to have safe British communities surviving. Without communities that serve a good purpose, we cannot survive and we cannot thrive! So let's start by saving "our" SOBO!!!

  • My friends and our young families meet here for coffee and catch ups. And my husband and I enjoy going to the different music community events. Plus, when we go running, we finish here with other runners and have a drink. Also, we can take our dog and enjoy a brunch outside. The staff are great vibrant and friendly, and we feel like it’s an extended family.

  • I’m a member of a community that meets there weekly for a swim followed by coffee and breakfast. I’ve made many friends there. Save SoBo Beach!

  • We visit Southbourne every year with the kids and dog and remember before Sobo when it was Bistro On The Beach. Sobo is so much better and a real asset for locals and tourists alike

  • Needs to stay open!

  • Walk here everyday

Karen, Southbourne · signed 3 days ago

  • It’s my safe place. I’m suffering quite badly with anxiety and mental health issues, but sitting at the top of the bus with a book, iced coffee and the sun on my face always makes me feel happy.

  • We visit regularly from mudeford, for walks and the beach with a lifeguard. It’s a relaxing fun place,. Given we nothing of the preferred bidder, I would prefer the current owners to continue.

  • A great place to meet friends. Lovely staff. All the family love to go there when they visit. Great for all age groups.

  • Uniquely different. A joy to visit. BCP should take note. modernise and evolve more of the same along the coastline - it's not broken, so don't fix it (let along get rid)! What a crazy decision by an authortarian collective that would be. Maybe all Voters should stop paying Council Tax...is that not an equally sensible decision?

  • We need commUNITY right now more than ever! I agree with everything Dan Astin-Gregory says about this and how important it is that it can survive.
