  • The community and support since having my first child has enabled me to feel more connected and less alone. I meet friends for walks/play dates on a weekly basis whilst enjoying coffee and comfort from Sobo. Young mothers need a place a safe place all year round to regroup, chat and support each other without the stress or anxiety of booking a table or attending a more formal cafe/restaurant.

  • Sobo is a vibrant community hub that is utilised by all ages. I would like the council to be transparent and publish the scoring methodology and how the tenders were scored. I am mindful that SOBO beach can demonstrate and share actual revenue costs compared to others that would only have projected - which could differ from what they actually achieve.

  • a wonderful place to go and sit and watch the sea while sipping a healthy oat smoothie. A place where people can come and be together and do some work..It is quirky and has an individual character. These kind of places are extremely important for community and mental wellbeing

  • SOBO beach is a fantastic addition to the beach front. It has brought the community together and I hope it is here to stay. Bournemouth desperately needs some attention and improvement. Do not remove the one place that makes Bournemouth beach front better.

  • It is a great facility and really has become an important part of the community. Delivering a meeting point for so many with access to the facility at the same time.

  • When living in Bournemouth I went to sobo beach every morning, it’s different, cosy, friendly, I visit there every single time I go back without fail. The beach wouldn’t be the same without it!

  • It brings the community together for a relaxing place at the beach. It has a feel good energy unlike anywhere else locally. Lots of other dog friendly people!

  • It is a wonderful asset to the community and to see it close due to an uninformed decision by the council is heartbreaking for the people who have worked so hard to make it a special place.

  • It’s a fabulous social meeting place providing good food & drinks at all times of day & friendly staff. Dog friendly too. Our go to place on the seafront especially on dog walks. Would be such a miss. They put so much on too.

  • It’s the best and only place I visit on the coast for coffee and drinks. The staff are friendly, there are always amazing events on and it’s built such a positive community wider than Southbourne.
