  • I take my disabled son here all the time because it's accessible and not to crowded.

  • Great atmosphere especially for older adults. Nice to have somewhere decent in a rapidly declining seaside town

  • It’s an amazing community hub that deserves to stay in situ until the tender process has been completed and planning (if required) in place

  • My disabled brother and I have visited to enjoy the views, people and coffee. It’s really needed in the area.

  • I have morning coffee with my husband, I meet friends for coffee there. My family from out of the area come to SOB. We ALL love SOBO, please please do not shut it down!

  • It’s a vibrant and key part of Southbourne’s community

  • I visit all year round as live close by. A relaxed and friendly environment. Works as it is so why redevelop? It has bought so much business to the area which was previously a very quiet part of the beach. Amazing community and used by all sorts of groups throughout the year. It is a local hub and that won't be the same with a commercial operator

  • I have always loved spending time at sobobeach when we travel down to see family and friends. Hope to move down soon so would be a shame to see it closed. There is no equivalent alternative venue in the area on the beach so I imagine it will be much missed by locals and tourists who enjoy what it provides.

  • I live in Southbourne and I love SOBO beach and use it all year round. Popping in on dog walks sea dips, swimming groups, silent discos. It’s created such a great community and the sort of place I’m happy to go alone too as there are always friendly people around x

  • We run a men’s wellbeing Walk n Talk group that meets there every Sunday. It’s a proper community venue and they’ve supported us from day one, as we have them by returning to the great events they have there. Take note of the word COMMUNITY and ask yourself the importance of it.

  • It's such a fun area promoting health and provides year round opportunities toget and get together. It promotes housing and has boosted the growth of local cafes and bars. It is liked by tourists and locals of all ages. It would be a massive financial loss to the area.

  • It a part of the community as much as the people who reside in it. It's been there longer than the people have. And the people of the area are privileged and honoured to be able to use such a magnificent section of the beach. It's a place community where families and individuals can come together, or find individual solice. My family and I moved here last year especially because of the beach itself. It's not just an attraction. It's a part of the community and it's identity.
