I use SOBO for meetings up with friends and to have coffee and hot chocolate on a very regular basis. There is nowhere else this end of Southbourne beach and it is always packed, whatever the weather.

I eat here. I have coffee here and I meet my friends here. It’s a great place. If you close it down it will be a vacant space for at least a year and as a council tax payer I demand that you utilise our assets effectively

I joined a Bournemouth run club there and had made me become part of a community with an amazing atmosphere. There’s nothing else like it in the area and is so much more then a place for coffee and food

It is a wonderful place,one I visit at every opportunity whomever I might be with. My only regret is that it wasn't there when I was growing up! To change it would be disastrous for the area and the local community that has been built. I am utterly astounded this is even a debate. The world and politics has gone completely mad.

It matters because SOBO Beach is more than just a beach venue. it’s a place for people to swim, spend time with family and friends, support the community, and look after their wellbeing. Losing it would mean losing a valuable space that brings people together. Everyone deserves a say in what happens to a place that means so much to the local community, and the decision shouldn’t be made until people have been properly heard.

This cafe has been a refuge for my health issues. The loss will affect me and many others who find solace in this beautiful area . Family and friends look forward to visiting when they are here . It is unique . The tabloids are full of praise for this venue; that in itself is a positive for Bournemouth , having had so much bad publicity. We need to keep this going . Please think again.

We moved from Birmingham to Bournemouth last summer and SOBO Beach was one of the reasons we chose Southbourne for our new home. We fell in love with the beach, the venue, and the community that surrounds it. SOBO Beach is the life and soul of Southbourne.

This place is a life saver for everyone & as an older person it is heartwarming to meet and chat with other people regardless of the weather . Such a good community feel and an essential place for mental health support and good causes . The public should be consulted on this decision . It will be left abandoned and vandalised, like so many other empty places in BCP. Please listen to our views.

It has the best community feel… we come on our holiday 3 times a year to Southbourne to stay with family and we ALWAYS go to Sobo. It employs local people, it has the most wonderful, positive energy and gives the community a place to meet up . Stop trying to close places where people can. Be socialable. You are making money off their revenue so leave these independent businesses alone
