No no no! Once places like this are lost, There seems little sense in removing a successful, valued local business when there is no certainty about when, or even if, its replacement will be ready to open. This should be about what is best for Southbourne, its residents and the wider community, not simply what generates the greatest financial return on paper. I sincerely hope that common sense prevails and that those making this decision recognise the enormous value SOBO Beach brings to our area.

BCP must listen to its community. Sobo Beach is more than a beach cafe it is a community. It makes no sense to destroy something that is thriving and demonstrating what community truly look like.

It's a great meeting place to chill eat and be merry. Brings the community together come rain or shine . Provides so much for the community it would be a great injustice to loose it

It has brought something very unique to the area and encouraged more of a sense of community to the area.

Yoga on the beach, gatherings for community, Sunday sessions great food and so much more we’ve just moved to the area and have found that SoBo is central to the community! We’ve also noticed how many tourists come and stay here for SoBo. SoBo beach adds value to the area in so many ways!

The owners have created such a great community space; it’s used by so many people, year round, rain or shine that more formal outlets like Rockwater could never hope to replicate. It’s a fantastic place to meet people for food, drinks, coffee. Plus they’ve provided Bournemouth with positive media coverage rather than the usual failing seaside town tropes.

Sobo beach is wonderful for the area, something different and people travel from all over the country to go there, don’t change it

Great coffee, great atmosphere throughout the year!

My go to all year round, Christmas day, sea dips, dog and family walks, always end up here for coffees, occasionally turn up for music and just to meet friends. I doubt the next place will match what Sobo has bought to the area. They understand us. Shutting it down to turn it into something potentially substandard is a disservice to the people that live here and pay their council tax.

I go there for silent yoga, dog walks, sea swims and coffee/ lunches. We had a wake after my sister in law passed away held there. It is the heart of the community and means a lot to so many. It would be heart breaking if it goes.

It’s a lovely, inclusive community venue. Allowing it to close because the council want a bit more rent is scandalous.

It is the heart of the community and leads the way for how Bournemouth town centre should operate … with local community at the centre of the vision, with access all year round, it doesn’t just appeal to tourists who don’t care and abuse our town. Let’s show the rest of the country what local residents care about.

Al1 year round friendly pit stop for coffee food while dog walking has a good fun beach vibe and community meet up venue much needed.

It’s a welcoming local sanctuary, we can take our dog, I have made friends there over the years. This year, after losing my Mum, it’s been a place to stop, rest, reflect, and create happier memories with friends. I will be truly devastated if it goes.

I’ve always loved SOBO Beach. It’s the most amazing community space. All the money in the world couldn’t replicate this. It’s grown organically and it is genuine and authentic. Save our SOBO beach!

It is the only place that caters for all the community all year round . I enjoy a coffee on a regular walk and the Sunday Sessions which has such a friendly uplifting vibe - it’s like a warm hug. There’s no other place like it. I’d be so sad to see it go.

We often go there for drinks\ meals. It’s a great place with a great atmosphere. I have seen in numerous other places where a thriving business has been replaced due to no fault of their own and anything that comes after is a complete disaster, never matching up to the original.
