  • I walk my dog here, spent Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and even NYE last year as such a beautiful venue with fantastic staff for all tastes!! PLEASE don’t change SOBO - I will be heartbroken 😢

  • Nothing quite like it. Great atmosphere, community, events and love the beach club vibes for locals. Why take away something that everyone loves?

  • Always meet there with my friend who lives in Southborne - beach walk and hot chocolate supports our mental health.

  • Great place which the owners have built up not only for a living but made it a great social hub for people to meet up. Think they should run the council, they would make a far better job of it.

  • We live on the top of Southbourne overcliff drive and use this place all year Round

  • Its a community ,wellbeing at the heart of it and it's become part of people's lives ,it promotes health and wellness you would be so irresponsible to remove it amd put more strain on the NHS! It is completely idiocy to shut it down

  • We come here several times a week for breakfast, coffee, lunch or drinks! That’s why it’s so special.

  • It is a local landmark that all local families of all ages use and love. It brings money to the area and Southbourne will a lot of soul if it goes.

  • It’s a relaxed space which isn’t pretentious like other waterside hospitality. The wellbeing events are what a world needs right now and supports local people and businesses

  • A beautiful place to catch up with friends and family

  • It’s more than a seasonal venue, it’s a home, a place where you can enjoy and meet people and create an amazing community. Which is rare to find nowadays.

  • Beautiful beach that I spend time at with family and friends

  • It matters so much to my family and I because it is a staple of my childhood. We go there whenever it’s someone’s birthday to grab a coffee or hot chocolate, we go there whenever someone is feeling down and needs a cheer up. We go there for peace. Sobo is original, not just like any other cafe or toby carvery, weatherspoons or pub, it’s a community.

  • We come here regularly with our little boy. Its the only place on the whole 7 mile stretch me and my wife can relax and have a drink on the benches right by the beach while my boy plays in the sand.

  • I stop here every day with my dog to socialise and rest. The staff and community built up here is like family to me

  • Its genuine focus on community and cross-generational activities is incredible. I've brought my family and friends here many times. I swim there. I see so many people enjoying its facilities and great food / drinks at sensible prices. The owners really seem to care about their customers. It's unique in the area, and perhaps in the UK. The national accolades speak volumes, and must have brought £100ks of tourism income to the area. Before SOBO Beach there was nothing.

  • It's simply beautiful and needed by the community and tourists alike

  • It’s so so special and loved by so many

  • To me being able to make the most of my local area means so much. My son's basketball team trains at the nearby school, we walk our dog here regularly, we have family come to visit us and we have friends locally and each time when we want somewhere to go that's chill, open all day even into the evening even if it's just for a coffee, we know we can go to Sobo. Beach yoga has become such a massive culture locally as have Sunday sea swims and coffee. We want this to stay.
