  • It’s an area where the people from the local area can get in open area, to do the things they enjoy without spending lots of money. In this time where money is tight for most of us, and the surrounding towns have lost so much and why do we have to loose this area too.

  • I like to walk along the promenade to SOBO to stop for coffee and read. It has a lovely atmosphere and has built up a real community, people go to SOBO to meet friends and as a base for community activities, we do not want to lose it.

  • I attend to many events they organise and also surf in the area, not having SOBO means not having a warm coffee after a dip! :(

  • It is the hub of the community. It is a unique venue on a sea front that offers so much potential the other seafront venues. It is so welcoming and it is worth the travel there to meet up with other like minded people. I would go as far as saying it is the friendliest place in the Bournemouth area.. I would urge you to use not only common sense, but the evidence of your own eyes that this place keeps delivering and keeps people coming back. Please keep SOBO beach…

  • Community hub with the people who already run it being locals who care about the area as opposed to corporate greed which is driving a future bland location

  • I regularly stop here for a drink and a bite to eat when walking the promenade. A friendly and welcoming place and it would be a shame to loose it.

  • It’s a hub for many local people and it’s the only place locally I can walk to with the kids and have some lunch whilst they play on the beach

  • Has proved to be a fantastic safe space for all in Southbourne. I have enjoyed the very relaxed atmosphere they have worked hard to create.

  • SoBo Beach is simply the best thing that Bournemouth has to offer. A summer day or evening down there is fantastic and has such a positive impact on the community. Why would you change this? Madness

  • Great community venue. More than just a food/ bar offering. A massive improvement of what’s been there over the previous many years

Jackie, Southbourne · signed 3 days ago

  • I moved here 4 years ago and met my friends here. It’s the hub of my own life, not just the community, living close by, meeting up for coffee, dancing, yoga and even running wellbeing events where we’ve brought women together who were lonely and isolated before. I honestly wouldn’t stay in Southbourne if Sobo closed down I only drink coffee here not the high street!

Hannah, Southbourne · signed 3 days ago
