Sobo Beach is a fantastic community hub and asset that is entirely unique to Southbourne. It echoes the laid back beach vibe of the surrounding area perfectly. I regularly walk there with my family, paddle board there with friends, and am saddened at the council’s decision to ultimately destroy this thriving community.

Sobo is the hub of the community. It brings people together, old and young, to enjoy the wonderful beach front. It gets people outside, active and meeting new people. I personally swim in the sea most days, trained for a triathlon and joined a run club while having sobo has the centre for a coffee and a chat afterwards.

Every time I take my young daughter to the beach, we always go to SOBO beach to get drinks and based ourselves on the beach next to it. I’ve been to their dance events too which are brilliant! It must stay!

I regularly meet up with friends here after dog walks, enjoying the silent disco’s and the Sunday sessions throughout the year. Such a fantastic venue with a great community spirit.

It’s great place for the community, we spend lots of time down there on the beach. We meet our friends to swim in the mornings and relax and unwind on weekends in the afternoons.

SOBO i an incredible community hub providing much needed base for residents activities, wellbeing and leisure. We use the cafe all the time when we sea swim/party/dog walk and it's been built up with careful consideration from its current owners and management team to the the brilliant place it is today. It would be heartbreaking to see the site sitting empty for a prolonged period of time while planning permission is sought or to have a weak alternative that won't serve the public as we deserve

We come down to Southbourne 3 or 4 times a year and head there straightaway. A great place to relax and always good company there

It's locally run and a success. I can see no value in another larger chain taking over. Or closure whilst another firm refurbishes to their style. Please, please do not let their be another Sandbanks debacle with Rock water. Which has still not opened and is now an eyesore on the beautiful landscape.

I bring any visitors who aren’t from Bournemouth to SOBO beach and they are always so impressed. It really encapsulates the local area in a way that few UK beach side businesses do. It’s a destination for young mothers like myself who want to go to the beach but also need shade, access to toilets and amenities for their little ones.

Such a special place Regenerated that part of the beach So many fabulous days and evenings spent with family and friends at Sobo I love an early morning coffee there My running group start and finish our runs at Sobo and in the summer we swim and sometimes get drinks after. Its a fabulous place and it would be a massive loss for the community and all the events that take place there I just cannot understand BCP’s thinking and process.
