We have a holiday home in Christchurch. We cycle to Southbourne beach regularly and SOBO has become a go to place come rain or shine, it’s a fantastic facility.

We are in our 80’s and always love having a coffee at Sobo beach bar! Nothing like it in Bournemouth area! Our daughter drives 2.5 hrs to come dancing here! They also do lots of good charity work. Unique place! Would hate to see it being yet another boring posh modern venue! This works just the way it is!

This is so much more than a restaurant, it’s a lifestyle that supports the community. The promise from other vendors will mean nothing when a soul-less money grabbing restaurant replaces what is currently there.

I’m only 19 but I come dancing here with my mum because it’s her “ happy place.” It connects us and I also love noise music and dancing on a beach! It’s amazing! We drive from Bristol to visit it!

I was a dj there on Fri evenings throughout summer 2026. Always a positive atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely patrons, ppl coming together to make shared Sobo memories. Would be such a shame to lose this unique, community space. Incredible to see us all coming together to fight to keep our Sobo Beach where it absolutely belongs❤️

Is the best place to stay and swim in whole Bournemouth and I love the coffee and time with my friends there after a yoga class. The community is the best so far, nothing to compare to Bournemouth pier, boscombe, or any others.

This is one of the best venues in Southbourne. It has created communities with its rustic indoor /outdoor offering. Ideal to enjoy straight from the beach or a swim . Not something you can do at places like rock water at branksome. Sobo beach is a unique venue offering so much to locals and holistic business offerings i.e. beach yoga. Council, please consider carefully before losing this valuable local hub.

This place is my “ happy place” and great for my mental health. I’ve had a lot going on in the past 8 years including divorce, brain injury, menopause and MANY other issues. SOBO allows me to forget!The Sunday sessions are amazing and brings all races, cultures and ages together and it’s such a lovely happy vibe! It’s a FAMILY! They also do a lot for mental health and homeless. People talk about sobo all over the U.K.!It’s unique!Remember posh and modern doesn’t always mean better!?
