  • It’s a great community hub, full of life and smiles, SOBO have built a great area for all ages.

  • I am genuinely devastated that the existing operation has not been successful in the tender. I fear that what may replace it will lack the warmth, understanding and local connection that makes it so vital, a loss I believe is far greater than may be apparent from official reports or even visits by elected members. For those who are vulnerable, isolated, or lonely in our community, this is not just a venue, it is a lifeline.

  • Great meet up spot with friends for a coffee

  • As pensioners we go for a walk along Southbourne beach and then always go for coffee in SOBO. You are the best thing to happen there and we don’t want to lose you. Devastated.

  • I swim there all year round and my young family swim there all summer long.

  • What a shame if this place closes down, it’s been a fantastic community social hub and brings that bit of beach to life, a great place to stop for a coffee and cake in the day or for a few social drinks on a late summers evening.

  • Great place to socialise, eat and drink with friends and family. Lovely hub for all locals, great music. Great events and lovely spot to sit and look out to sea.

  • I enjoy sitting on the beach with a drink/icecream listening to the music. It's a great place to relax and meet up with friends whatever the time of day or whatever the weather is doing.

  • It's a great venue, lovely food friendly atmosphere, I love the community feel there, the art classes in the bus, activities on the beach. The fun silent disco's , everything about it would be missed.

  • My mum and dad walk there every morning with the dogs. My mum says they have the best hot chocolate and it’s part of their daily life

  • For all locals, not makes a change from the usuall expensive restaurant on the sea front where you have to have a expensive meal to get a seat!

  • A committed community service set in a fabulous, accessible setting.

Ann, Ferndown · signed 1 hour ago

  • It's a great place to go in summer & winter. Especially good if you just want a drink & not a full meal out. Bournemouth council should encourage more venues like Sobo along its vast coast not remove it.

  • A fabulous place with a lovely, relaxed vibe and a warm, community spirit - great food, coffee and very dog friendly. It’s quirky and different and it always makes me feel happy - no wonder people travel so far to get here! 🤗

  • I frequently stop here for a coffee or meet a friend for a drink. It has been great to have such a good quality reliable facility on the beach with a genuine interest in being part of the thriving SOBO community.

  • The perfect community hub in a beautiful location. I go all the time: after a swim, with friends, with kids. There is no where else like it!

Lois, Southbourne · signed 1 hour ago

  • I meet friends to swim here all year round.

David, Bournemouth · signed 1 hour ago

  • It is rare to see somewhere cater a second space to so many different people of different ages and ability. I know so many people who engage with the activities at SOBO that wouldn't necessarily have a means to do them elsewhere

Jade, Bournemouth · signed 1 hour ago

  • It is run by the community for the community
