  • Place to stop for drinks, walk my dogs in the winter and to dance in the summer, only place I can let my hair down in the daytime and forget all my troubles x

  • It's a great place to visit on the seafront. Other than the places around Boscombe Pier there is nothing else from there to Hengistbury Head

  • A venue like this is great for the community as its popularity speaks for itself.

  • Frequent here with family and friends, despite being from out of the city. The main reason why we would venture to southbourne beach.

  • Coffee with a smile. Perfect beach vibe … plus community values! BCP - put residents before profit!

  • It's an absolutely beautiful spot. Great establishment. Brings families, young people and pets of all kinds together to enjoy fresh air, the beach, good food and drink. There should be more like it, not less!!!

  • Great place to meet up with friends

  • I live in Boscombe but rely on Sobo weekly as a community space. I use it while sea swimming, walking the dog, working remotely and socialising/,relaxing with friends & family. Many of my friends outside of Dorset regularly travel from London & Hampshire just to visit Sobo Beach - as there's nowhere quite like it.

  • We walk the prom regularly snd it's an inviting stop off point. We choose to go there because the staff make it inviting, the place itself us uplifting and fun. We join so many other people there because there's a vibe of positivity about the place. It really feels like a community - a good, old-fashioned community like it was years ago. People speak to each other. No, a replacement with different staff cannot guarantee the same! Don't try to fix something that isn't broken, isn't that how it

  • We use this a lot for coffees and sonetimes breakfast. It has held some magical events over the last few years. It's a great meeting place, always lively and cheerful. I feel it would be very sad to see it go and gutted if there is nothing there this winter to support cold swims and Christmas meet ups.

  • It is a great venue to visit when we go for a walk along the beach with friends and I love that it is available all year round. It seems madness to get rid of such a successful business

  • Love the beach vibe here. Amazing atmosphere and something different from the norm.

  • I travel from Hampshire regularly to beautiful SoBo beach especially to visit this wonderful, friendly and fun venue. It is such a special place with a welcoming vibe that clearly supports its local community and its unique atmosphere makes me and my family travel all the way from Fareham with our dog for special occasions. We will be so sad if the Council crush this unique gem.

  • I walk at the beach in southbourne almost everyday , to have this place shut would be devastating! It’s such an amazing community :(

Poppy, Bournemouth · signed 16 hours ago

  • As a family we have been coming here for years. Amazing place, amszing food, the people are just as amazing. This would be a massive loss for the community and Bournemouth.

Ben, Bournemouth · signed 16 hours ago

  • It's a place where people go to socialise and come together as a community which helps with the increasing pressures from the challenging world we live in. Ultimately having a positive effect on people's wellbeing and bringing a sense of achievement to the sobo family and wider community groups.

  • Such a great meeting spot for the whole community. We do many walks along that stretch of coast and always look forward to a cuppa or bite to eat and a chat!

  • Such a lovely place to be, so much of the beach is neglected. Broken taps , toilets Portman ravine were out of order for weeks, replaced by inadequate porta loos . Let’s try & have somewhere nice to go in the beach !

  • Great place for young and old, why change something that is doing so well and enjoyed by so many people from all walks of life?

Sally, Christchurch · signed 16 hours ago

  • I think it’s incredibly well run and popular. It has formed a community.

  • Love this place we use it all year round. It helps create a sense of community and makes Southbourne seafront welcoming and inclusive. It promotes healthy outdoor lifestyles by providing a destination for walkers, runners, sea swimmers and dog walkers. It’s popular and contributes positively to the character and atmosphere of Southbourne. It has a unique character for young and old alike! It’s a valued community hub contributing to the local economy and providing employment.
