As a holiday maker who visits beach year, Sobo is the one place that feels family friendly, welcoming and just a place that is open to everyone. Such a shame to see this place go

I’m only 19 but I come dancing here with my mum because it’s her “ happy place.” It connects us and I also love noise music and dancing on a beach! It’s amazing! We drive from Bristol to visit it!

I was a dj there on Fri evenings throughout summer 2026. Always a positive atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely patrons, ppl coming together to make shared Sobo memories. Would be such a shame to lose this unique, community space. Incredible to see us all coming together to fight to keep our Sobo Beach where it absolutely belongs❤️

It is such a chilled vibe. I don’t think it should be changed to a bricked building. It serves it purpose adequately as a lovely meeting place. Please don’t change it.

Is the best place to stay and swim in whole Bournemouth and I love the coffee and time with my friends there after a yoga class. The community is the best so far, nothing to compare to Bournemouth pier, boscombe, or any others.

This is one of the best venues in Southbourne. It has created communities with its rustic indoor /outdoor offering. Ideal to enjoy straight from the beach or a swim . Not something you can do at places like rock water at branksome. Sobo beach is a unique venue offering so much to locals and holistic business offerings i.e. beach yoga. Council, please consider carefully before losing this valuable local hub.

This place is my “ happy place” and great for my mental health. I’ve had a lot going on in the past 8 years including divorce, brain injury, menopause and MANY other issues. SOBO allows me to forget!The Sunday sessions are amazing and brings all races, cultures and ages together and it’s such a lovely happy vibe! It’s a FAMILY! They also do a lot for mental health and homeless. People talk about sobo all over the U.K.!It’s unique!Remember posh and modern doesn’t always mean better!?

I love coming here all year round and there is no where else like this in Bournemouth. We take all our visitors to here and they always love it. We can come for a coffee, some food or just a vibe it always pleases. All our visitors love it!

I walk here every week and the community support there is worth the long walk. It is welcoming and the staff are amazing, We can’t get that community spirit anywhere else. It is such an asset to the community whilst bringing in parking money and visitors to the council area. We have so little left, please don’t make the same mistake by getting rid of this too.

SoBo beach is a regular stop when we visit to walk along the promenade. It’s dog friendly; totally inclusive vibe with indoor and outdoor seating. No other options in that area

Beautiful, lively and vibrant community vibe which is so rare. Brilliant location for music and dancing, well run and loved by many . You don't get quirky places like this anymore. Please don't take something like this away, especially to replace with another soulless hospitality venue.

It is a relaxed and welcoming venue and attracts a lovely clientele. What I love most is how it is appealing to both young and old people alike, it is dog friendly and just has a great vibe which unfortunately other venues like urban Beach at Boscombe cannot replicate .
