Since moving to Christchurch 4 years ago Southbourne Beach has been a go to place - to enjoy a mess love of sea swimming, enjoying SOBO beach cafe for all its varied events , meeting friends it just has a good vibe I can’t think of the beach without that connection for the community…. It has to stay

Best local beach venue around, events, brings people together, somehwere decent to hang out away from the crowds or Bournemouth Pier & Sandbanks, truly somewhere for the locals. Stop being so greedy and actually give the constituents what they want for a change which is to keep this fantastic service to the public open and allow it to continue thriving!

It's important to me to have a venue where local people meet. Community activities like yoga help to keep a community spirit in the area. We do not want to be sold out to an expensive venue with no local interests at heart.

I use Sobo beach regularly. There is no other venue like this along the beach. Bournemouth needs more shops/ bars restaurants along the beach. Shutting down this vibrant hub for socialising is a mistake

I regularly meet with friends here for a drink after sea dipping. It’s an important community hub. I’ve also enjoyed the Christmas carols here.

Best place east of Bournemouth! We visit most weeks after a beach walk. Great vibe and would be a real loss to the residents of Southbourne and the surrounding area.

We visited the area from London a few years ago and loved SOBO beach. We subsequently booked to come back to the area, always booking within walking distance to SOBO beach. We love the beach and area and SOBO is the cherry on top of an already amazing place.

They have worked hard to create a successful business which benefits the community and attracts people to Southborne. Why punish success? All it does is deter entrepreneurs.They have created something unique. Renew their lease!
