  • This place is the heartbeat of that beach area. It’s a hub for the local community. The last thing we need is something like the council operation near Durley which is dull, boring, expensive and attracts 3 customers a month!

  • I was at a bit of a loss in life three years ago and on a cold November day, a few good people I know from paddleboarding invited me to join them at Sobo Beach. That day I met new friends, who were warm, open and friendly. Some a bit lonely, lost or stuck like I was. The kind of friends you bump into and share a coffee and a stroll. There is usually a recognisable face in Sobo Beach, or if not, there’s a stranger, to exchange a few words. Community is more important than £££.

  • We use Sobo frequently come rain or shine. It’s such a popular place and would be a huge loss for the whole community

  • Live locally and this is an important community venue and I bring all my friends here. A truly iconic location that is managed well for the local community and it makes southbourne a great community location .

  • I go dog walking with friends and always end up at SOBO for coffee and chat, lovely atmosphere and love the place. My children live in Brighton and SOBO has the same vibe as many places there and is very welcoming.

  • I'm always envious of anyone who lives close enough to visit this community minded business daily, where as for me it's a treat I plan on my days off. The food, drinks, vibes, communuty feel is unlike anywhere else in the area and why would you NOT allow that to continue. We are paying the council, it's our money to make our area thrive so who do these people think they are removing that and making a wrong choice for " their residents" .... this is nit what's best for the future of the communit

  • I swim here and enjoy the Sunday sessions. Sobo has been a great addition to the Southbourne community and don't want to see it go!

  • SOBO holds a massive piece of my heart, and the thought of losing it is incredibly heavy. Places like SOBO—where the memories are practically baked into the walls and you know you can always bring people for a good time—are the true anchor of a community. Closing SOBO and not replacing it immediately will be devastating to the community. S paces like this are hard to find and take time to build.

  • SOBO Beach managed to grow a community! In a town that lacks places where people can safely come together and thrive, what Sobo Beach owners managed to obtain is really fantastic. We need to keep the few good things that make Bournemouth a place worth living in! And this is one of them. Communities are the heart of any town.

  • It is a community, it's somewhere for a lot of people not just a few, a place to gather, to meet friends and chat, to have fun, to dance to fantastic music, to sit and watch your kids play on the beach, a place for families, friends and groups. It's possible employment for young people. It draws people in from other areas It's a lovely way to enjoy our wonderful beach

  • Great place to meet up with friends and family after a walk

  • It’s a major hub of southbourne. Not only does it provide a great gathering point for all ages, it provides jobs for young people which gives them a great leg up to getting further employment later on down the road. The culture they have built is amazing and has brought life back to that area of the beach. Any other business would unfairly take the progress and leg work that sobo have made.

  • It is a community that's been build up over the years with this unique venue, I don't ever feel this would be repucated by another. Sunday session, gatherings, Wellness, family's, swimming all the things I do and love handing out there.
