  • It makes family life magical. A lot of affluent families would leave the area without SOBOs. It's the main beach attraction that is very universal for different usage occasions with different people. If it is replaced with a restaurant it will fail, as was shown by the previous trial.

  • Coffee at Sobo Beach is my reward most days for having walked there. Apart from the obvious attraction of beach and the sea, everyone at Sobo is so very welcoming and makes an old bird like me feel relevant again. The success of Sobo Beach is no accident but is testament to the hard work and forward thinking that has gone into it. Since when did we stop rewarding hard work with loyalty! They have created a community, which is so very rare but so badly needed these days. Let them stay.

  • I live in the area and am so grateful to have somewhere I can go on the beachfront that has a real community feel, whether I go for a walk alone or with my partner or go there to meet friends or take family we’re always greeted with welcoming staff and a lovely atmosphere. It would be a real shame to lose Sobo Beach when it’s so embedded within the community.

  • I regularly go walking in the area, just pop in for a coffee or go to the silent discos. My children go to St Peter’s and go there regularly after school. It is a community hub for many people. I have only ever heard positive things regarding the site. I have only ever had positive experiences there. Why would BCP not renew?!

  • Sobo beach has defined Southbourne in the best possible way! It represents everything this community and this little slice of heaven on the Dorset coast stands for. In the summer it's a place where some of best sunny memories are made and in the winter it keeps us connected to our beautiful beach! I think what sobo beach has created is something really special, it genuinely feels like a landmark in our community, there's not many places that can say that in the BCP area, so bloody save it!!
