I love seeing everyone using it as a community all year round. During our walks or beach Pilates, it’s great to see something that doesn’t just feel like a commercial venture… Something for everyone. I’ve heard many people outside of Southbourne and BCP talk about Sobo Beach. Bournemouth gets a lot of bad press & Sobo beach seems a major positive talking point for BCP in the longest time. Seems like madness to change something that clearly works.

I moved to Christchurch in January 2026 and SOBO has been an absolute amazing place to socialise and meet up with friends and family. I have been to Sunday Sessions over the summer too & actually met my gf there. SOBO brings people & the community together. Please let it stay and do what it does best.

I use SOBO more out of season because I love the relaxed atmosphere. I can be on my own walking the dog and pop in and end up chatting to all sorts.. I come away most of the time with a smile a faith in humanity

Community is our future. We need small hubs where human beings can meet and connect. I'm new to the area. Meeting new people is important to my sense of belonging, whether it's through speaking to the friendly staff members at SOBO Beach, the walkers, swimmers, moon circle members, or simply being around familiar faces enjoying a cup of tea and the sea view. We need a pit stop on a walk. We need a place to enjoy social time and music. We need this unique & quirky venue to keep Southbourne ALIVE!

Because I was born here and as a child used this beach. I am older now and walk the dog there need somewhere all year around like SOBO beach is to stop and have coffee why change a good thing!
