I grew up in the area and still visit every chance I can. It is a fun vibrant community for all the family and has made such a difference to the area. It is such an improvement from the old bistro on the beach.

It is a fantastic venue and community hub. Our swim group meets here twice a week. We go here for dinners out. It is lovely in summer. We have had guests who come down from other parts of the country and abroad who love it. Why would BCP close it and leave it vacant? It doesn’t make sense financially or for the community that BCP purports to serve.

Its a local place where everyone father's. There are not enough seafront venues around where you can have fun, meet people and socialise which is massively important in today's worrying times

When I was thinking of moving down here from Hull, I walked along the beach from Bournemouth to Southbourne. I sat outside Sobo and had a coffee. It was 8.30am. I loved the vibe of the place and decided this was where I had to live. I didn’t even wander into the high street. A month later I moved to Southbourne. It still makes me smile when I visit it or run past.

I use this place to walk my dog and grab a coffee in the morning. It’s a lovely atmosphere and would be a shame to the community in southbourne for this to be gone

It’s an incredible community hub. Events of every kind bringing positivity. I’ve put on several events there and families from across the coast have attended m. To lose SOBO Beach would be to lose the soul of the community

I take my family there to sea dip and then havevs9me breakfast. Its been a place where i am able to deal with a very difficult year, and having a relaxing place to go to has helped me cope better.

Sobo beach is an excellent venue..it's original, it brings the community together and it hosts a lot of different events. Most importantly, it's not run by the council. I don't want the council to work for a profit, I want the council to work for the residents, hence why would they take a private resident owned business?!

It is welcoming to everyone of all ages, we have met lovely people there and enjoyed the various events such as Bachata classes. Or just stopping for a coffee or drink while walking or cycling. Sobo Beach is unique - nowhere else as relaxed and welcoming

Best beach in Bournemouth so far

It’s our local beach and we benefit from the community it creates across multiple age groups and types of people. We’ve enjoyed a coffee after our morning Pilates throughout the summer months but the fact it’s open year round and is an inclusive space for community groups, families, swimmers, dog walkers, locals and tourists alike is unique along the stretch of beach which ordinarily focuses on a premium priced dine-in offering only. It’s so much more than this.
